Alexandra Parade, Glasgow G31 2ER | Approx 102 acres
A large Victorian city park, opened in 1870 by Princess Alexandra of Denmark. The park offers a wide variety of facilities to the population of the east end of Glasgow; formal gardens, bowling greens, a golf course, play areas etc. There are large open areas that offer views across the city, mature woodland, two ponds that shelter nesting swans, ducks and wildfowl, a public food forest and orchard plus a mountain bike trail and more. The ornamental fountain, sadly neglected, is grade A listed and the cherub drinking fountain at the main entrance is B listed. Alexandra Park is an excellent city park and I’m lucky that it is my local park. You can read more on the council’s website. (11/09/25)
